A + J Proposal // Brooklyn, NY

I was so excited when John approached me about his plan to propose a couple months ago. Unbeknownst to Angela, he had already bought the ring, asked her closest friends to be a part of the celebration, and was ready to bend down on one knee to ask her to marry him. All week long the weather predicted rain, but the day of, there wasn’t a cloud in sight! It was the perfect day to get engaged ;) Although there were a few hiccups along the way— including a full on run-for-my-life pee break, these kind of things are what help make a story, hey? Haha. Here is the full set from our time at the Brooklyn Bridge Park. It was such a pleasure being a part of this special day. Congratulations to the happy couple!

A few words from John on his thoughts moments before he proposed… “Before I saw Angela I was super nervous and antsy. But when I saw her walking down on the pathway of the park at a distance… and her eyes, her shock and tears, I couldn’t help but feel that everything I had planned to do or say wasn’t going to be enough to express how much I love her. I wanted to scratch the whole thing and hug her and tell her how much she meant to me. ‘Skip the music, skip the planned words, and just tell her with all your heart’ is what I felt as I saw her, but holding the guitar I just had to do something with it to get it out of the way. I think she knew it too because when I started singing the song with as much intent as possible, it felt like for us both- as much as the song meant to us, it wasn’t nearly all that I wanted to express. We know each other so well and have been through so much together. She gets me. She sees deeply. I love her so much.”
